BASWA Acoustic Plaster system Maintenance

The BASWA phon acoustic plaster systems are based on surfaces with fine pores which absorb the sound energy. The size and number of the pores and primarily determine the absorption characteristics of the different acoustic systems. Thus, BASWA phon Acoustic plaster surfaces must not be painted using conventional paint.

Also observe the following:

  • Do not attempt to clean using water or other cleaning agents.

  • Fundamentally, only touch the surface with clean hands, or wear clean gloves.

  • When connecting BASWA phon acoustic plaster surface, always protect with masking tape.

  • Do not wipe partial contamination (dust, fingerprints etc.) on the surface, otherwise the contamination will be concentrated in the pores.

Depending on the contamination, size of the ceiling and time available, the measures available are as given below

BASWA Clean

BASWA Clean

BASWA Clean F01 is a 2-component cleaning agent, which contains enzymes. It’s used for clean- ing surfaces and / or the partial cleaning of organically contaminated and discoloured BASWA Phon a acoustic plaster surface. It is part of the BASWA Maintenance Concept for maintaining and renovating BASWA surfaces and can therefore be combined with other techniques used (dry cleaning of heavily or partially contaminated surfaces, restoration of surfaces that have discoloured over time with BASWA Fresh). Cleaning the surfaces with BASWA Clean F01 is not a substitute for the complete renovation, but it can significantly extend the service life of a BASWA Phon acoustic plaster  surface. When applied correctly, the product lightens the soiled colour tone and gives the surface a fresh look, without impairing its acoustic properties (after multiple applications this can create a slight glimmering effect on the surface). BASWA Clean F01 can be used on white BASWA Phon surfaces. If the surface is coloured there is the risk of discolouration and cloud formation!

BASWA Protect

BASWA Protect

BASWA Protect is a specially developed premium impregnation system for achieving an in-depth water repellent with optimum protection for BASWA acoustic plaster surface. The acoustic performance of the treated surface is not affected by this.

The deep penetration of BASWA Protect into the acoustics plaster system will significantly lower dirt and water absorption. This prevents the immediate ingress of liquids and thus reduces its capacity for absorbing contamination in liquid form and dirt particles that are mixed in with liquids.

Furthermore, the impregnation can have a positive influence on the cleaning of BASWA surfaces, as well as on their durability.

BASWA Fresh

BASWA Fresh
BASWA Fresh

BASWA Fresh is a mineral dispersion product for the paint-based renovation of BASWA surfaces discolored as a result of aging and use. It is a solution that is part of the BASWA Maintenance Concept that keeps BASWA surfaces looking goods and refurbishes them. Hence, it is compatible with other BASWA Maintenance Concept products, e.g. BASWA Clean or BASWA Blonde. However, please keep in mind that treating surfaces with BASWA Fresh is not a substitute for a complete refurbishment. Nonetheless, it has the capability to extend the useful life of a BASWA surface signi- ficantly. Its professional application refreshes surfaces discolored as a result of aging or bleaching and makes BASWA surfaces look virtually new. If at all, this treatment affects the acoustic perfor- mance of the surface only very minimally. However, BASWA Fresh is not the product you should choose if you are planning to change the colour of your existing BASWA acoustic plaster surface

Important! It cannot be ruled out that if you treated dyed BASWA acoustic surfaces with BASWA Fresh the paint colour may differ minimally from the original colour.
